Integrated Blind Flange Design
Application
The BridgeFlow Valve introduces a patented integrated blindflange design that eliminates the need for traditional double and single block valves, and separate blind flange installations. This innovation reduces cost, saves time, and enhances overall safety in field operations.
How it works
The BridgeFlow Valve integrates two precision-machined solid sealing plates directly inside the valve body. Through a mechanized switching action, these plates are driven into position to mechanically fasten against the seat surfaces, establishing a blind-flange-equivalent barrier. This design aligns with OSHA’s definition of “blanking or blinding,” which requires the secure fastening of a solid plate to completely isolate the pipe.
Unlike traditional double block and bleed (DBB) valves, which rely on seat sealing and a bleed cavity to verify isolation, the BridgeFlow Valve achieves one-level-higher isolation integrity by creating a positive, blind-equivalent seal inside the valve body without the need for external flanges, studs, or gaskets. This eliminates operator exposure to process media and reduces both leak paths and maintenance complexity.
Key Features
- Patented integrated blind flange design removes the need for line blind flanges
- Patented friction-free switching mechanism eliminates wear and tear, extending service life and reliability
- Higher-level isolation than traditional Double Block and Bleed (DBB), Eliminates needs of double and single block valve configurations
Key Features
- Improves installation safety by eliminating operator exposure to process media during isolation
- Accelerate installation and commissioning timelines
- Reduces total lifecycle cost through fewer components and minimizes downtime.
- Compatible with standard pipeline specifications
- Meeting the following codes and standards: API 6D, ASME B16.34, ASME BPVC, NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156, ISO 15848, and ASTM.
Operational Advantages
- Reduced components: Up to 50% fewer parts in typical tie-ins
- Simplified Logistics: One valve to specify, purchase, and track
- Leak path reduction: Eliminates redundant sealing surfaces
- Lower total cost: Reduced labor and installation overhead
